Get Your Life In Order/Getting Outdoors (Nov. 23-30)

So here we are, friends! The last week of November and today is Thanksgiving (a.k.a. Turkey Day; a.k.a. the day we are thankful before the day we are greedy-greedy-greedy [albeit, Black-Friday-thifty-greedy]; a.k.a. the day we eat until we fall asleep, wake-up and eat again, this time until we have to undo our dress pants, and then we add the pie, because, regardless of how much we have overeaten, there is somehow still room for pie)

And to all that I say, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

This is the last post of the month and, I confess, one of my favorites THIS ENTIRE YEAR!
So as not to postpone my excitement (can you feel it through my typing...???!!!), here goes:

Find out what Thanksgiving really means.

Yep, that's it.

Need some help or an idea of where to actually begin?
No problem.
Try these:

Look up the FIRST THANKSGIVING so that you know the history of this holiday (which has little to do with pigskin balls and the Macy's Day Parade).

MAKE A FUN TRADITION for this day- something distinctly FOR YOU but ABOUT OTHERS.
We are thankful people, no?
Well, according to today (where the average turkey cost $50 and you likely have one on your table or in your oven right now), you should be happy.
Family and friends have come to you (or you to them).
There is a pie-fest to entertain young eyes and bellies of all ages.
You likely do not have to work (unless you are employed by Wal*Mart and/or Target- God love you people), and so you probably 1) slept in, 2) took/will take, a nap, 3) will watch/play football ALL. DAY. LONG.
Bless you all.

But really, now think of a way to BLESS OTHERS!
Go! Do this!

We are grateful, I am sure we are, but before tomorrow comes {you know, just another day- nothing special about this one, certainly nothing to be "overly thankful" for}, stop to think of others.
Those less fortunate, yes.
Those who are alone, yes.
The sick
The elderly.
The orphaned.
The widowed.
And instead of just having thoughts which may make you momentarily saddened and uncomfortable, do something of great value FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

So, got all that?
Let's refresh:

Our last weekly mission of November is to find out the origins of Thanksgiving (yeah, I could post it, but you taking that initiative on your own speaks louder to your soul-I promise), and find a way to outwardly -SELFLESSLY- SHOW your gratitude.

That is all, Happy Day, Friends! -
