New Year's Inspiration

Have you ever done a book study?
Been a member of a book club?
Completed a Bible study?
It is that time of the year again when inspiration seems to come from just about everywhere- and
I. LOVE. THAT!
Just the other day, I saw this posted to a friend's Facebook page:

I am a pretty book snob. This book is pretty. Instant attraction.

Immediately after that, I was reading Candace Cameron Bure's Blog and came across this:

C.C.B. is preparing her year with a different book
for each month of the year- what a wonderful idea!

And then, low-and-behold, today I found this on yet another blog from a young momma named Erika at: http://faithandfingerprints.blogspot.com/. Her post was titled, The Excellant Wife.

This one wins with best title- so exciting!

INSPIRATION!

I confess, I judge books by their covers and wanted to do a study because everyone of these books looks like such great reading material.

So I decided that it was time to do my own Bible Study.
-I do love a good study.-
And I am wondering, do you have any recommendations?

One of the first that I had completed was by a woman I enjoy hearing during seminars: Lysa Terkeurst. If you are looking for somewhere to begin, she is my recommendation.
Here is the first study of her's I completed:

So then there is music....

Do you have a favorite radio station?
I know I have gone through phases of country-lovin and whatever was trending.
In the last few years of my life, I have found my favorite of all: K-LOVE.

K-LOVE is a Christian music station based out of Indiana.
Every year the station hosts this really amazing opportunity, which is one reason for this post today.
It is an opportunity called the, "30-Day Challenge" and the mission is to listen to only Christian music for 30 days straight and see if it does not make this incredible impact on your life. (It will!!)
During this challenge, you can listen to any Christian station, not simply theirs, or pull-out or purchase a Christian c.d. from someone you love.
My reccomendations include:
Hillsong United,
Francesca Battistelli,
and, going old-school, Third Day

And then there was this...
A Pay It Forward Initiative.
It's such an easy and yet impacting way to be a blessing to others all year long.
The premise is that you make a point out of blessing someone (or many someones) throughout the year:
a phone call to someone you have not spoken to in too long,
buying the stranger behind you her coffee at Dunkin Donuts,
visiting a nursing home and just being there for someone who has no one.

This is exactly like the giving calendars during Christmas (the Advent calendars with ways to bless instead of small candies and toys), only this does not stop at the end of a season or month.
It's a year-long initiative.

------------
There is so much inspiration this time of the year.
What inspires you?
