Ed McKay's Used Book Store (review)

I really enjoy doing reviews! You have likely noticed the trend that, I review what I enjoy, I equate this to my typically optimistic attitude. :)

Today is no different, as I bust-out this really quick and easy post.
*This post is not sponsored by Ed McKay's Used Books, but they can totally "like" me if that are interested! *wink-wink*

So, a used book store. I have to admit that I was not always interested in doing their review. I like them and I enjoy the great finds, but half-price (which is their default asking price) can still be a high-dollar. For that reason, I typically prefer thrift stores and paying...idk...25cents to one dollar for a $7-15 book.

But then...I have found countless BSC (Baby Sitter Club) books there which are rare finds. (Did you know that BSC books stopped being offered through Scholastic book order forms after #100? This makes everything printed after 100 a rare find!)

So what changed my mind about doing a review? Well, easy: I found GOLD!!!

Someone sold a boat-load of Lysa TerKeurst books and they were dirt cheap!!!!
What?
Clearly the workers at Ed's had no idea what they held...and let' not tell them, so that the prices remain adorable and low.
These books were less than $2.50/each! What? Yeah!

So I went back every time I was in that area of town. (Here is the part where I have to admit that I did not grab those books when I first saw them. As expected, most were long gone when I returned next. I could kick myself.) But guess what? Although I was disappointed with my slacking, I was so excited about my other great finds:

Angela Thomas! Lysa TerKeurst! Lara Williams!!
Additionally, LOVE DOES and ASSASSINS (number 6 in the Left Behind series, and the only one I was missing), are both on my 2016 reading list!
Each one was in the $2.50 ballpark, with the exception of Assassins, which was $4.
Still, GREAT FINDS!!

Speaking of great, I have already read The Best Yes (which is my favorite L.T. book to date). And,
To Walk or Stay, by Lara Williams, was one of my most sought-after books of 2015. It would have made my list if I had known about it when I made the list.

Notice, I have mentioned Thomas, TerKeurst, and Williams in additional blog posts, so you can imagine my excitement- I REALLY LIKE THESE LADIES!

Back to Ed McKay's. Great selection. Decent to great prices. Kid-friendly kid-area. Written and audible books, music (cds, records, cassettes??), DVDs and Blue-Ray, games, toys, collectibles, posters, entertainment games and systems). Lots of entertainment. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I would say GO! It is cheaper than Barnes & Noble, the thrill of the find is exciting, and the selection is always changing.
One word to the wise, when you find a Lysa TerKeurst book, don't be a bum like me and let it pass you by. -
