Take a moment and watch Muchelle B.'s video:
Creating an Environment to Support your 2019 Habits ☀️Reset Your Life Challenge
Yesterday we wrote about creating our Stop, Continue, and Start Lists.
If you have not already done so, this would be a great time to compile yours.
One of the things I confess to being pretty terrible with is time management. There is this constant list in my mind about what I would like to accomplish and do in a day, but for some reason, there is hardly ever enough time.
Like today. I am finally FINALLY at a good point in my weekly "to do". Yesterday it was a mile long but I kicked some serious butt and crossed a lot off the list, so today I was able to pick up my new read this morning and dive in.
It was so good that I thought to myself, "for sure, once Thatcher is napping, I am going to sit down and sip some green tea whilst reading this book".
Then I remembered that I did not post on my blog yet nor did I work-out, and these are personal goals of mine.
Also, I had not yet completed the email and documents I told the school's guidance counselor I would get to her about my being the Box Top Coordinator of my sons' school and HOW TO STEP UP OUR SUBMISSION GAME. (Head's-up, I completed that just five minutes go, before switching to blogging -CHECK)
And Tuesday is my "build a Sunday School and Cub Scout's curriculum day", so...priorities.
If I am being totally honest, the laundry is folded but not put away, I am not yet out of my pajamas, and the dishes are a mile high...so, there's that as well.
Water for Elephants is just going to have to wait a little longer. And that's ok. I am pacing myself. Doing the next best thing.
Yesterday, I listened to the
RISE podcast with Rachel Hollis whilst cleaning. She interviewed
John Maxwell, whose book,
Developing the Leader Within You, I had to read my freshman year in Bible college. I write "had" because
I wasn't there yet, in a leadership mindset. I am now, and I am posting a link,
here, where you can see ALL of John's books and
get wholly inspired!
During the interview, John dropped this bomb and I darn-near dropped the toilet scrubber:
Consistency Compounds.
Let me write that again,
CONSISTENCY COMPOUNDS.
That is darn good.
Once I have completed the items I have committed to, are included on my goal list, and help my family to function with less stress, I can actually relax and read, instead of fighting the battle in my mind over being selfish and lazy.
Back to yesterday's lists:
Did you write one?
To my "Continue" list, I am adding, just keep doing the next best thing.
I hope this post leaves you inspired.
Make your lists.
Find your prioritizes.
Write out your goals.
Choose the challenge.
